As a Expert Security Data Governance Engineer at SAP, you will be a pivotal force in architecting and fortifying the company's global security data ecosystem.
Your expertise will drive the strategic development, operational excellence, and continuous innovation of data governance and security frameworks integral to SAP's advanced logging, monitoring, and threat detection infrastructures.
This role demands visionary leadership and deep technical mastery to ensure the integrity, availability, and compliance of security data that underpins SAP's proactive cyber defense, intelligence, and incident response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, lead, and optimize scalable data platform solutions that empower SAP's enterprise-wide security logging and real-time monitoring infrastructure.
Engage as a trusted advisor and cross-functional leader, collaborating with senior stakeholders and security teams to translate complex business security requirements into actionable, robust data governance architectures.
Drive the end-to-end lifecycle management of platforms supporting incident response, cyber threat intelligence, and vulnerability management, ensuring seamless integration and high resilience under global operational demands.
Lead the ingestion, normalization, and fusion of large-scale, heterogeneous datasets to enable cutting-edge analytics and advanced threat detection methodologies, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies including data mesh principles, event streaming platforms, and enterprise SIEM tools (notably Splunk).
Develop and enforce enterprise-wide security data governance policies, standards, and best practices aligned with industry-leading frameworks such as NIST, SOC, PCI, and GDPR, ensuring rigorous compliance and audit readiness.
Innovate and implement advanced automation pipelines, sophisticated scripting workflows, and optimized data processing architectures to elevate platform efficiency, data quality, and operational agility.
Mentor and lead engineering and operations teams, providing expert escalation support, driving continuous knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of excellence and resilience.
Champion data integrity, hygiene, and lifecycle management as central elements of SAP's evolving data security strategy, contributing thought leadership to shape long-term security data visions.
Deliver high-impact technical presentations and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, empowering data-driven decision-making for holistic threat mitigation and security posture enhancement.
What You Bring:
Over 5 years of demonstrated senior-level experience in Information Security, specializing in security data governance, engineering, and SIEM platform.
Proven track record of architecting and managing enterprise-wide Splunk deployments at scale, including infrastructure design, advanced administration, and high-availability configurations.
Deep and current knowledge of global information security compliance regimes and audit frameworks such as PCI, SOC, GDPR, and NIST, with hands-on experience driving compliance initiatives.
Advanced proficiency in automation, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and complex regular expressions to enhance data ingestion, transformation, and platform lifecycle automation.
Exceptional strategic communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to C-level executives, stakeholders, and technical teams globally.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments, driving innovation and continuous improvement within security data engineering and operations disciplines.
Experience leveraging cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating these platforms with security data ecosystems is a distinct advantage.
Experience with Cribl or similar data routing, processing, and observability pipeline tools is considered a strong plus.
