IT Engineer

Our client based in Shannon Clare is a global leader in new technologies and advanced manufacturing methods for the MedTech sector at home and abroad. The successful candidate will develop, establish, and maintain IT systems and practices that meet the company and customer requirements. REPORTING TO: IT Manager PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Ensures efficient and effective technology and internet access for a group of users Organise troubleshooting or repair when necessary for IT equipment Oversees information security and maintains network and user security through hardware or software installation Participate in cross-functional teams Tracks inventory and status for hardware and software throughout an organization Establishes relationship with technology vendors Advises on the organisations IT equipment, networking, and connectivity needs and purchases products, parts and services as necessary Develops emergency plans for equipment, power, or security failure to preserve technology and data Researches and stays up-to-date regarding new IT equipment and solutions KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in an IT discipline is an advantage Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT role is preferred Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology Software development abilities preferred Strong problem solving and communication skills required Skills: Hardware and Software Troubleshooting Information Security It Support Networking
