is at the forefront of the technology domains.As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Systems Engineer - to join our group.You will play a fundamental role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products: you will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting validation activities at sub-component and system design and integration levels.This includes designing and executing systems design, requirements analysis, test plans, and preparing validation and verification procedures.You will also work closely with the product teams (Embedded Software, Electronics, Mechatronics, Photonics, Optics and Assembly-Integration-Test) and project managers to ensure that systems are appropriately specified and meet all relevant specifications and requirements.Our products and projects are for both space and terrestrial applications, requiring a high level of quality assurance and planning.What you'll do:Develop and execute design and validation plans for complex hardware and software systemsDesign, develop, and execute test cases to validate system functionality, performance, reliability, and usabilityPrepare comprehensive reports that clearly communicate design and validation, and analyse the performance and progress against requirements to report any issuesStay up-to-date on industry trends, testing methodologies, and tools, while contributing to the improvement of systems and validation processes and proceduresSystems component identification, specification and selection suitable for aerospace/space deploymentSpecification to relevant ISO/IEC/JEDEC standards, with specific reference to aerospace standards from NASA/ECSS, including inclusion of new and emerging standards.Creation and specification of power and communications link budgets for (sub)systemsDevelopment of (sub)systems from prototype to aerospace-qualified productsWork closely with interdisciplinary mechanical, embedded, photonic and optical teams to design for mechanically and thermally constrained environments with strict optical requirementsSupport and systems development for Design for ManufactureLiaise with sponsors, contractors, satellite bus manufacturers, and sub-contractors for requirements collection and design specification and conformance.Documentation and review of design, test validation of (sub)system designsSpecification and verification of complex systems for tenders and bids, and on-going projects.Willingness to participate with design engineering and test teams across diverse range of disciplinesWho you are:BE or similar with postgraduate or industry qualifications in systems engineeringProven industry experienceExperience in system architectural design and application of systems engineering practicesExperience with ECSS/NASA standards and their applicability to design, integration and validation processesFamiliarity with Agile development methodology and SCRUM frameworkExperience in Model-based philosophy of complex systems, and model simulation toolsExperience with Python or other scripting, modelling or software coding to validate conceptsExperience with typical design and manufacturing test equipment/systemsDesirableDesign experience in a related space, software, aerospace, defence or automotive industryExperience with aerospace radiation hardened component selection, component derating, custody and testing practicesExperience developing electrical power models and budgets, thermal modellingExperience developing noise models and link budgets for communication systemsExperience with satellite integration and testExperience with ISO **** series quality assurance systemsKnowledge of best practice in Design for ManufactureSoftware inter-networking and distributed systems designA familiarity with engineering software e.g ANSYS, SolidWorks, Fusion360, Altium, Cadence, Zemax, Simulink etcA familiarity with orbital systems design
