Role
EIID is an Irish regulated non-life insurance company.
It operates in multiple jurisdictions with 6 branches, including a Third Country Branch in the UK regulated by the PRA/FCA.
The Company has grown significantly and continues plans for growth and development.
We write specialty, property and casualty business.
The role holder will continue to lead the development and implementation of our risk management function.
The successful candidate will possess relevant industry experience, solid experience implementing best practice risk frameworks, excellent organizational and communication skills, initiative, and strong influencing skills.
The role is high profile and requires collaboration with senior colleagues across multiple functional areas and Everest offices.
You will have the opportunity to shape this role and the future development of the risk function, providing risk-based insights to support Everest in making sound business and strategic decisions.
The role requires significant experience within the non-life insurance sector and in-depth understanding of non-life insurance and strategic risks.
The candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, and able to manage a broad range of activities in a rapidly growing business.
Key responsibilities
Supporting the executive team to comply with regulatory and governance duties
Promote continuous enhancement of Everest risk culture
Provide leadership and direction to the risk management team
Develop Annual Risk plan and deliver actions, including coordination of regulatory developments related to risk management
Develop, implement and embed a sophisticated risk management framework meeting Prudential standards set by the CBI and PRA
Ensure the firm's recovery plan is up to date and relevant
Ensure key risk indicators and risk dashboards are in place and monitor risk, collaborating with senior management on results
Manage Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process including stress tests and timely information to the Central Bank
Undertake deep-dive reviews of selected risks
Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and first-line experts to provide risk management advice and oversight
Liaise with Group ERM and deploy Group ERM tools and developments as appropriate
Oversee production of risk management papers and reporting for Management, Risk Committee and Board
Support and contribute to the annual business planning process
Competencies, skills and experience
Deep expertise in non-life insurance risks with strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including CBI and PRA
Strategic and analytical mindset with ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions
Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
Collaborative approach, building strong cross-team relationships
Ability to apply professional scepticism and challenge constructively
Clear and effective written and verbal communication
Strong integrity, ethics, and accountability
