OverviewKOSTAL IRELANDGmbH, is a global manufacturing business which manufactures electronic devices for the automotive industry.With over 700+ highly skilled people on our team here in Ireland, located in Abbeyfeale in Limerick and Mallow in Cork.Project TitleIntegrated Test Failure Analysis and Knowledge Management SystemThe Co-Op student will design and develop a system that combines automated analysis of production test data with a digital knowledge base of test failures and debugging procedures.This project involves creating a data analysis tool to identify trends, recurring issues, and potential root causes in test yields using variables such as component lots, program versions, and operator information.The results of this analysis will be used to populate and continually update an interactive, searchable knowledge base.This resource will provide Engineers and Operators with actionable insights, detailed failure descriptions, root cause information, and step-by-step troubleshooting guides, all in one accessible platform.PurposeTo empower the Test Engineering team with a centralized solution that not only accelerates root cause identification and yield improvement through automated data analysis but also standardizes and preserves troubleshooting expertise in a living, accessible knowledge base.This dual functionality enhances both operational efficiency and knowledge transfer within the department.Key ResponsibilitiesProject completionAssist engineers in the setup and installation of test equipment in production areasSupport the development and verification of test programs for new products under guidanceHelp evaluate and maintain test equipment, contributing ideas to improve methods and efficiencyAssist in implementing new products on various test platforms (ICT, AOI, FLASH, end-of-line functional test, etc.)Participate in monitoring and reviewing production yields and identifying potential process improvementsSupport the use of version control software to organize test programsAssist in investigating and implementing process optimizations and cycle time improvementsSkillsProgramming and scripting skills (e.g., Visual Basic .NET, Python or similar)Familiarity with databases, data analysis, and data visualization toolsStrong written and verbal communication skills to document troubleshooting processes and findingsAnalytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to detailBasic understanding of electronics manufacturing and test engineering conceptsWillingness to collaborate with Engineers and Operators for collecting and organizing relevant data and knowledgeFlexible, adaptable, motivated individual with willingness to learnPositive attitude to work and adaptable to change managementPursuing a Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (NFQ Level 8)#J-*****-Ljbffr
