The R&D team conducts applied research on emerging technologies to create innovative products for Mastercard.
Role
This role involves working with a team of scientists to research, discover and test the application of Quantum computing by developing novel solutions.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the research analysis, design, and development of Quantum solutions.
Research on emerging Quantum capabilities, technologies and techniques.
Creation and presentation of thought leadership content.
Contribute to the requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes, and best practices.
Apply technical capabilities within own discipline to mentor colleagues.
Work with cross-functional teams across geographies on new product innovation and R&D initiatives.
Publish research papers and file technical disclosures and patents for solution concepts in the field of AI and quantum.
Identify opportunities where Quantum could be leveraged as a key enabler.
Skills
Python proficiency with scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy).
Experience with quantum frameworks: Qiskit, PennyLane or Cirq.
Familiarity with classical optimization techniques and tools.
Machine learning experience, especially with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Version control (Git) and basic software engineering practices.
Cloud quantum platforms: IBM Quantum, AWS Braket, Azure Quantum, DWave.
Background in physics, CS, or related field; research experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of Python-based API frameworks like FastAPI and JSON objects.
Working knowledge of Databricks is advantageous.
Experience in composing solutions where Quantum is a component part.

Possess at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Quantum Computing/Algorithms.
Loves creating innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
Advanced knowledge of modern software engineering concepts, tools and methodologies.
Passionate about code quality and coding best practices.
Shows initiative and willingness to take on challenging opportunities.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and strong collaboration skills.
Must be driven, highly motivated and a strong team player.
