Offer Description
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD Sutherland School of Law
This position is within an ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Maebh Harding (Principal Investigator).
The `reKINdle project' is a 5-year comparative qualitative study focused on expanding empirical and theoretical understandings of the parent/child link and finding a new legal conceptualisation that works better for children and families.
The project is fundamentally about how law relates to and shapes human behaviour.
To do so, reKINdle develops a socio-legal comparative law method to map and analyse legal regulation of the parent/child link in 5 case study countries (provisionally Ireland, England, Poland, France and Sweden).
The project also investigates lived experience of regular and irregular legal status through qualitative interviews with parents and other adults.
reKINdle will host two international workshops exploring different understanding of the parent/child relationship.
In the final stage, reKINdle will use prefigurative techniques and focus groups to explore alternative understandings of legal concepts.
