We are recruiting for a new position of Health Economist to join our AXA Ireland business. We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our customers through innovative health insurance strategies that are grounded in evidence-based research. To support this mission, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Health Economist to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of health insurance strategies that positively impact the lives of our customers by analyzing healthcare data, evaluating healthcare policies, and providing insights to support decision-making on the development and pricing of health insurance products and services. Your work will be critical in helping us identify opportunities to improve healthcare outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. As a Health Economist, you will use your expertise in health economics, econometrics, and data analysis to conduct in-depth research and analysis on a range of healthcare topics, you will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement evidence-based recommendations that align with AXA's strategic goals. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing: Conduct economic analyses of healthcare interventions and policies to inform decision-making and pricing strategies. Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of medical treatments and procedures, considering real-world evidence and health outcomes. Collaborate with internal teams to develop pricing strategies for health insurance products, balancing company and policyholder needs. Monitor and analyze healthcare trends to forecast claims and identify strategic opportunities. Communicate findings to stakeholders to support evidence-based decision-making. Contribute to the development of innovative health insurance solutions within regulatory and market constraints. Operate within approved budgets for the fiscal year. About You: Ideally 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, with proven experience in conducting economic evaluations within the healthcare sector, preferably within the insurance industry. A degree in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or a related field. Ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively. Strong understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement mechanisms, and regulatory considerations in Ireland. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex economic concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
