Network Engineer Location: Fully Remote Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent I'm looking for a Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operations of modern network infrastructure across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical depth, a focus on automation, and a passion for reliable, secure systems.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking components.
Lead and execute lifecycle management, upgrades, incident response, and preventative maintenance.
Maintain and improve high-availability, secure network environments through automation and observability practices.
Collaborate with security, operations, and engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives.
Document standards, configurations, and processes; ensure alignment with best practices.
Champion infrastructure-as-code principles and drive network automation.
Essential Requirements 2+ years of enterprise network support experience.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security platforms.
Strong technical knowledge of Layer 2-7 networking, including BGP, VLAN, VXLAN, DHCP, DNS, and QoS.
Scripting skills with Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.
Familiarity with network monitoring and incident response tools.
Experience with VPNs, wireless networks, and certificate-based security.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Exposure to Juniper Networks, AWS, or Azure networking.
Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, JNCIA, JNCIS, or AWS/Azure Networking certifications.
