Senior Occupational Therapist in Neuro Oncology
This is a permanent, full-time position (35 hours) based at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9.
The successful candidate will join an experienced team of multi-disciplinary colleagues delivering the hospital's Neuro-Oncology service.
Responsibilities:
Deliver an integrated expert service to meet the occupational therapy needs of patients within the inpatient and outpatient Neuro-Oncology service.
Work collaboratively with the occupational therapy manager and neuroscience occupational therapists in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the neuroscience services.
Manage a caseload, prioritizing and maximizing effectiveness of intervention using available resources.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and MDT colleagues, promoting a holistic approach to patient care.
Participate in planning, maintaining, and evaluating a quality service, recognizing opportunities for improvement and implementing change as necessary.
Demonstrate leadership and service development skills, promoting the role of occupational therapy within the service and contributing to strategic planning.
Engage in evidence-based practice, applying knowledge to local practice and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
Contribute to research projects, publishing findings, and disseminating results locally and nationally.
Act as a clinical resource, providing expert advice and support to colleagues, and facilitating staff development through education, supervision, and mentoring.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a qualification approved by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
Have at least three years' satisfactory post-qualification working experience as an occupational therapist in the adult acute hospital setting.
Have a proven record of clinical/academic achievement, including development in the specialist area.
