Position: General Operative/HGV DriverLocation: New Ross, Co.WexfordContract: 1 year with reviewSalary: DOE (salary paid monthly)Are you ready to be a vital part of a dynamic and innovative utilities service company?As a frontrunner in the Energy and Telecoms Industries, Gaeltec Utilities is propelled by a collective vision: creating a cleaner, brighter living for our future.Our journey is one of continuous growth and success, and we are seeking an individual who enjoys a challenge with an enthusiastic attitude.In return we offer a diverse working environment, competitive compensation package, progression opportunities, Employee Assistance Programme, personal development and Cycle to Work Scheme.Overview of role:Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a General Operative within the Overhead Lines team to work throughout multiple locations in the Southeast and Central Region (base location Kilkenny).The ideal candidate will be required to provide efficient and safe operation of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and assist with general operative tasks, support the smooth running of daily operations.The role combines driving along with hands-on-duties such as loading, unloading, maintenance and site work.Key Responsibilities:· Safely operate HGV vehicles to transport goods such as machinery, poles etc.· Complete daily checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with regulations.· Adherence to road safety and driving regulations, including load securing and tachograph laws.· Loading and unloading machinery and other equipment as required.· Perform general site duties as required and maintenance of tools, efficiently and in adherence to quality standards, construction programme and procedures.· Ensure the safety of yourself, the workforce, public and any other person affected by your duties and responsibilities.· Follow task briefings and appropriate safe systems of work and ensure that Company policies and procedures are always adhered to.· Complete all training as identified by the Company.Key Sills and Experience:Valid HGV license with Driver CPC qualification.Proven experience in driving HGVs and operating associated equipment.Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle and equipment maintenance.Excellent communication, time management skills along with the ability to work as part of a team.Reliable and flexible with the ability to use own initiative.Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and work in varying environments.Must have an understanding of the English language.Commitment to health and safety.For more information on the Gaeltec team, please visit our websiteJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Additional leaveBike to work schemeCompany eventsEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingSick payLanguage:English (required)Licence/Certification:HGV License (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: On the road
