As Sonographer, your duties mainly include performing obstetric, gynaecological, and general ultrasounds independently. Qualifications and Requirements in Radiography or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years experience in sonography. Mammography experience desirable. DEXA experience desirable. Role Responsibilities Ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained. Carry out regular audits in the department to aide quality improvement initiatives. Undertake primary responsibility for the day to day running of the scheduled list, including vetting, imaging & reporting equipment faults.Lead in the provision of a radiography service in a professional manner. Allocate workload to facilitate efficient workflow and maintenance of service user throughput. To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimisation(ALARA) and dose constraints / limits are adhered to. Report any malfunction of defects in equipment to the Radiology Services Manager or deputy. Support the Radiology Services Manager in the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving and developing the service.
