About Kirby Group EngineeringKirby Group Engineering is an international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor and leading provider of high-value engineering services to a number of blue chip companies.Operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe, Kirby has become the engineering service provider of choice in growth segments such as pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission and distribution.Our culture is innovative, collaborative and performance focused.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance.Role purposeThe Instrument Technician is responsible to install and commission the measuring and control devices used in industrial, pharmaceutical and commercial processing.The desired Instrument technician will work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine test and maintenance proceduresUse pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation, and diagnose faultsConsult with and advise process operatorsCarry out risk assessmentsCalibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufacturers' specificationsWork with engineers on basic designInstall and maintain instruments on new plant equipment and process equipmentInterpret and use appropriate CSA, ISA and API installation standards and practicesKey tasks / responsibilities / accountabilitiesEnsuring that technical issues are resolved without delay.Prepare risk assessments, method statements & all aspects relating to Health & Safety.Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site & successful handover of all instrumentation.Monitor & record progress on site against the construction programme.Duties will include but not limited toFurther develop system architecture (Cabling)Maintain and log all changesCold and hot loop checkingCalibration of instrumentsBench checkReceipt verification, in and outRead and redline system P&ID'sUndertake regular meetings with the supply chain to maintain progress & to ensure resources are matched to the construction programmeTo liaise with the project manager & prepare the project close out report.Review with the project manager the allocation of resources & to review progress.Review & ensure that the site based personnel have the correct training & valid certification for the project.Motivate the E&I team on site.Develop a strong & maintain an excellent working relationship from the start to the completion of the project.Qualifications & experience requiredLevel 6 qualification time served tech.Detailed knowledge of the Instrumentation role; Detailed knowledge of Electrical Instrumentation; Commercial understandingHealth, Safety and Environmental systems and proceduresKnowledge of the team- their strengths and their weaknessesThe above list of tasks, activities, responsibilities and accountabilities is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.Job descriptions will be regularly reviewed to ensure they are an accurate representation of the post.#J-*****-Ljbffr
