Van Driver Reports To:Distribution Manager Location:Tallaght, Dublin Hours: 40 Hours per week (Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm) Salary: Hourly rate €15.00 The Role We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and dedicated Furniture Delivery & Assembly Specialist to join our growing team. Main Accountabilities Delight our customers while following our REACH principles. Ensure excellent communication and provide professional customer service. Take full responsibility for all loaded goods and their safe delivery to the customer. Check all items loaded in the van prior to departure to confirm accuracy. Load vehicles safely and cleanly, following company policy and ensuring items are secure for transport. Professional conduct during deliveries and during interactions with customers e.g. pre-calls to schedule delivery by calling customer by 10am. Drive courteously, within legal limits and do not use phone while driving. Deliver and assemble furniture, including bed frames, with precision and care. Givecareful consideration of the placement of product throughout customers homes, preserving the quality of our products and the surrounding décor to take care of customer property and handle all deliveries responsibly. Follow safety protocols when handling tools, and assembling furniture. Ensure equipment is maintained. Maintain company vehicles by performing daily checks reporting any issues, keeping them clean, tidy, and in good condition. Accurately complete all daily paperwork including: Keep clear and accurate records of all deliveries, assemblies, and any failed attempts. Keep accurate records of fuel usage and ensure efficient use of company resources. Immediately report any damages or shortages to the team. Report issues daily, such as failed deliveries, assembly challenges, customer concerns or any accidents or incidents which may occur. Carry out minor repairs to returned products. Use navigation tools or apps to optimize delivery routes and record tasks digitally.Assess planned driver delivery routes, make informed decisions and take action as necessary e.g. due to adverse weather. Dispose of recyclable materials responsibly and in accordance with company policies. Occasionally step in to assist in the warehouse with tasks such as: Unloading and loading containers. Ensuring items are stored and handled according to company standards. The Candidate Professional manner while giving attention to detail. Proven experience in furniture delivery and assembly. Competence in using tools and handling challenging assembly tasks. Strong time management and punctuality to meet tight schedules. Communicate effectively with others including branches, customers, warehouse and customer care team while building rapport. Consistently demonstrates positive energy, drive and a can do attitude. Take ownership for vehicle, products and delivery teams performance. Demonstrate candour at all times. Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues, such as missing parts or difficult assembly tasks. Essential Criteria Must hold Cat B driving licence, able to drive 3.5t Van is essential. Physically fit due to nature and volume of product (heavy lifting). Knowledge of Dublin and surrounding areas is essential. Good organisational, administration and PC skills. Experience or ability to complete light assembly of bedding and furniture is an advantage. Benefits Pension. Staff discount. Smoke break exchange - allowing 1 extra day leave each year.
