Role
Follow given directions and procedures in software delivery tasks (code development, test, deployment)
Deliver assigned work seeking guidance from experienced team members
Proactively seek code reviews from experienced members
Understand the big picture and end-to-end logical architecture of systems in ownership areas
Provide feedback and suggestions on areas to improve
Understand and apply Mastercard technology policies in daily work
Demonstrate active learning and sharing of software practices via Guild/Engineering community initiatives
All about you / Experiences
Experience in developing backend applications using Core Java
Knowledge in developing microservices using Spring Boot
Proficient in Java, SQL
Familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT)
Understanding of standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices
Use tools (e.g., Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx) to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns
Build test code at unit, service, and integration levels
Understand basic design patterns (e.g., factory, singleton, observer)
Participate in requirement analysis, elaboration, prioritization, and effort estimation
Knowledge of SDLC practices (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe)
Understand engineering principles for mission-critical software (security, customer experience, testing, operability)
Familiar with application patterns for business processes (APIs, event-driven, batch-services)
Understanding of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) concepts
Corporate Security Responsibility
