Environmental, Health and Safety Officer – PAM SNNRyanair Engineering Delivered by PAM Ireland Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Hangar 5, Shannon Airport.The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic, highly skilled team, contributing to the safe maintenance of a fleet of 600+ aircraft for one of the world's largest and most successful airlines.This role provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, offering significant growth potential in the aviation industry.Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, the Environmental, Health and Safety Officer is responsible for the following duties:Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:Health and SafetyPromote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures on site.Support the company's Health & Safety Management System to ensure compliance and safety across all operations.Conduct regular Health and Safety audits to identify potential risks and improvement opportunities.Provide expert advice and guidance on various safety-related topics, ensuring best practices are followed.Keep up to date with relevant legislation, industry standards, and emerging best practices, advising management accordingly.Continuously review and update existing risk assessments and safety measures in line with current legislation.Evaluate and manage contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work procedures.Deliver Safety Briefings to contractors to ensure they understand and comply with site safety requirements.Audit contractors' work to ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.Communicate all Health, Safety and Security updates in a timely manner.Conduct toolbox talks with staff to raise awareness on safety and security standards and practices.Manage all Visitor/Site Access; ensure company visitor policy and procedure is adhered to at all times.Assist with general site security responsibilities as needed.Oversee the implementation of site corrective actions to address safety concerns effectively.Conduct Risk Assessments and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments to minimize exposure risks.Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.Collaborate with other site departments to proactively address Health & Safety issues.Conduct daily site walks of the hangar and wider facility and promptly action any items arising.Manage hazardous waste and general waste collection schedules.Monitor and ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.Develop and implement programs to minimise environmental impact, including waste reduction initiatives.Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.FacilitiesReview and monitor the facilities maintenance plan, ensuring necessary and agreed work is carried out professionally and within the agreed timeframe.Assist with facilities related projects, including effective management of external contractors and engineers.Assist with the company's response to unforeseen facility maintenance needs, ensuring work is completed promptly, effectively and in line with legislative requirements.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceRelevant qualification in Health and Safety with an in-depth knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.4+ years post-graduate experience in Health and Safety.Experience in the aviation industry is desirable, however not essential.Proven experience in drafting Risk Assessments and Health and Safety policies/ reports independently.Knowledge of hazardous materials.Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.Working knowledge of safety management information systems.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain Health and Safety topics effectively.Bike to Work SchemeFree onsite parkingThis role offers a competitive salary and friendly working environment with the opportunity to grow and develop your career within the aviation industry.#J-*****-Ljbffr
