JOB DESCRIPTION OHC is recruiting a Bi Developer on a 12-month contract (daily rate) for a client programme where OHC is operating as a strategic partner. OHC is not offering sponsorship for this role. Our energy client is growing and developing their BI and Data team, enabled partly through the implementation of a new Utilities ERP solution based on MS Dynamic's 365. The development involves replacing 4 separate systems operating across different energy types in different jurisdictions to a consolidated platform. The successful candidate will join our clients growing BI and Data team, working on the design and development of BI reports using SQL and Power BI to meet business requirements based on data from the new system. The candidate will also be required to work with our clients data engineers to identify and resolve data quality issues and support with the development of a Data Warehouse. The candidate will work closely with business users to define and design the reporting & BI requirements before building out the requirement using the data sources available. As well as the technical skillsets required, the ability to understand both business processes and IT/data processes will be key. The candidate, through excellent technical and communication skills, must be able to bridge the gap between business and data engineers to deliver fit for purpose solutions. The goal is to deliver high-quality reporting and insight to help drive the business towards data-driven decision-making, while working constantly with the data engineers to improve and advance our BI capabilities. As the candidate will belong to the project team involved in the implementation of a new data environment, technical experience of data transformation, ETLs, and designing/building data warehouse will be a significant advantage. Responsibilities Develop reports and dashboards in Power BI to meet the requirements of business users and to deliver data-driven insights that will benefit the business Work with the business users to understand processes, define the requirements, and use your knowledge of the business data sources and data models to deliver high-quality output Work with data engineers to ensure reports, dashboards etc are accurate, up-to-date, and fit-for purpose at all times Liaise with business users and data engineers as and when new data is required to investigate the source, create data definitions if needed, and ensure the new data can be sourced, ingested and integrated into the data lake/warehouse Support data engineers to develop Data Warehouse and/or other solutions to optimise BI capabilities from the new system going forward Qualifications & Experience Relevant 3rd level degree or Certification 3-4 years experience in BI and Reporting roles Role specific (technical) knowledge / skills: Data Warehouse knowledge and practical experience incl. Fact & Dimension models Excellent skills and experience in both Power BI and T-SQL are essential Experience in documenting report requirements, data definitions, change control, and reporting processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities Understanding of the Energy Utility Market a significant advantage Benefits We offer competitive daily rate contracts Work Arrangement Hybrid with initial part of assignment 3 days per week office based Skills: Power BI T- SQL Data Warehouse Fact & Dimension documenting report requirements Benefits: We offer competitive daily rate contracts
