The MS&T Scientist (Specialist) plays a pivotal role in the overall operation of the MS&T Bioprocess Laboratory, collaborating across sites as part of a diverse and interdisciplinary team to build capabilities and knowledge in biologic manufacturing at our Dublin-based biotech multinational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute analytical testing to support USP-DSP scale-down model establishment, satellite runs, and investigation/improvement studies within the MS&T lab
  • Plan and conduct DSP laboratory studies (i.e., chromatography runs, filter assessments)
  • Support the transfer of analytical methods into the MS&T laboratory
  • Provide specialist analytical support to the site and network for non-routine analysis and troubleshooting
  • Conduct experimental design, execution, data analysis, and interpretation
  • AUTHOR AND REVIEW STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AND TECHNICAL REPORTS
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (MS&T, quality, analytics, regulatory) for process improvement and troubleshooting
  • Educate the Analytical Sciences group on effective application of Lean SixSigma and Change Management tools
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree qualification with a minimum of 5 years of experience or Master of Science degree qualification with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or PhD degree qualification in a scientific discipline such as biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or process engineering
  • Technical expertise in biologics drug substance upstream and downstream operations, analytical testing, process development, and tech transfer
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to think logically and remain proactive under pressure
  • Effective communication skills and deep technical expertise in science
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, meet schedules, and adapt to an interdependent work culture
  • Experience working in a GMP / regulated environment is desirable
