Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Youll take ownership across the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to inspections and client handovers, across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and residential sectors.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with Project Directors to define project requirements and deliverables Develop and implement mechanical design solutions tailored to client briefs Prepare reports, budget estimates, and cost plans throughout the project lifecycle Lead junior engineers and technicians, assigning weekly deliverables to meet deadlines Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and produce detailed site reports Review contractor technical submittals and verify installations against design Prepare and oversee BCAR inspection plans at key project stages Ensure full design coordination across disciplines and maintain strong client relations Mentor junior team members and share technical expertise Requirements: 5+ years mechanical design experience in a consultancy environment Level 8 Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering (Chartership-recognised) Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, water services, drainage, and Irish building regs Proficiency in design software, including Hevacomp, Auto CAD, Revit, and Navisworks Strong reporting and Microsoft Office skills Chartered Engineer status or ability to achieve within 18 months Benefits: €60k - €80k + annual performance-based bonus 22 days annual leave (rising to 27 with service) Flexitime with core hours Company pension scheme Annual health checks & wellness initiatives Regular staff events, charity initiatives, and an annual Christmas party abroad Interested?
