Assistant Accountant

The company who operate throughout the UK and Ireland have recently experienced growth and due to this expansion are looking to add to their Accounts Team Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties About the Job Preparation of account reconciliation and posting of associated journals Assisting in the preparation of journal entries.
Review of purchase transactions and posting of purchase daybook Review of payments runs.
Oversee administration of company credit cards Processing of monthly employee expenses Ensure subcontractor accounts are set up correctly Prepare and process subcontractor payments for weekly BACS payment runs.
Completion of weekly job costing Assisting in the preparation of monthly management and year-end accounts.
Submission of VAT/Intrastat returns Supporting the preparation of annual budget and forecasts.
Ensuring the accuracy of financial records and reports.
Skills and Experience Part-Qualified/ Fully Qualified Accountant ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting role.
The ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Strong IT skills and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
