Job Title: Fund Accountant (Fixed Term Contract - 6 Months) Location: Cork Our client, a prominent player in the financial services industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fund Accountant to join their dynamic team on a fixed-term contract basis for six months.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise in fund accounting while working with a variety of financial products, including ETFs, OEICs, Investment Trusts, and Mutual Funds.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review elements of the Net Asset Value (NAV) production and validation process for several funds within strict deadlines.
Ensure completion of specified tasks according to established procedures and NAV checklists.
Source and evaluate information provided by vendors such as Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, and S&P related to NAV calculations.
Adhere to internal and external deadlines, monitoring delivery from internal teams to the Fund Accounting department.
Actively liaise with clients and internal teams to facilitate timely resolution of issues.
Understand team deliverables and collaborate effectively within a larger team to meet internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with exposure to complex financial instruments, including OTC Derivatives (Swaps, Options, CFDs, Futures, etc.).
Participate in month-end and year-end deliverables.
Regularly engage with Globally Significant Clients to exchange information regarding cash, accounting, and reporting.
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to minimise audit and financial exposure while enhancing team efficiency.
Attend and contribute to team meetings, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is an advantage.
Proven experience in fund accounting or a similar financial role.
Strong understanding of NAV calculation processes and financial instruments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using financial software and tools; familiarity with Bloomberg and similar platforms is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
