Maintenance Fitter

Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Job Summary: The Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
This role ensures optimal machine performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work efficiently under pressure, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day engineering support in a fast-paced production setting.
Perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective repairs in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation and records.
Support production teams by delivering high-quality maintenance services.
Ensure all maintenance work is conducted safely, in line with site procedures and industry regulations.
Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) to provide emergency maintenance support.
Requirements & Qualifications: Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Qualification (or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Flexible approach to tasks, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance strategies.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
