We are currently seeking a Part-time Health and Safety Officer to join our team at our Kilbeggan production facility in Co. Westmeath. The role offers flexible working hours of 25-32 per week, with specific hours to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and execute Health and Safety objectives and improvement plans in collaboration with Site Operations Management and Divisional H&S Manager.
  • Support site supervisors in investigating Health and Safety incidents/accidents at the site, including leading the investigation process where necessary or collaborating with senior management on serious incidents.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders such as Human Resources, Food Safety & Quality, Engineering, and Operations departments to address Health and Safety issues/concerns in a timely manner.
  • Identify site Health and Safety training needs and deliver training sessions for employees and management as required.
  • Manage the induction process for new starters across the site.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and bodies such as the Health & Safety Authority as necessary.
  • Evaluate employee, contractor, third-party, and visitor compliance with site Health and Safety and Covid19 requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times.
Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • A relevant third-level qualification.
  • Previous experience in the food manufacturing sector is beneficial but not essential.
