The ODT Service Lead will oversee the management of the National ODT service and will ensure all homecare services are carried out to a high standard that meets best practice.
Responsibilities: A key element of the job is the management of complex patients along with building and maintaining relationships with caregivers.
Help manage any discrepancies or issues with the scheduling team due to sick leave etc Be the point of contact and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders for any issues Daily review of Evaluation of Care documentation Report, document and close out any incidents that occur Responsible for regular clinical reviews/assessment of all nurses attending ODT patients Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times is essential.
Attend all initial new patient assessments that come on service Attend audit reviews as required Liaise with our Commercial department and attend client meetings as required The ODT service Lead will report into the Head of Nursing.
Mandatory Criteria: Must be registered with NMBI (Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland) Must hold a qualification in Paediatrics 3 years post qualification experience Key Competencies: Cannulation and phlebotomy skills for both Adults and Children - Essential Demonstrable IV therapy experience including care of central venous access devices.
Medication management High degree of self-motivation - evidence of personal and professional development.
High level of attention to detail, having a systematic and structured approach to tasks and processes as well as having good time management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and diligence with documentation.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly with clients and build good rapport.
Orphan Drug Workshop organisation and training delivery to other TCP nurses Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
The applicant must be prepared to drive significant distances to clients home to support nurse on the service as well as the patient Demonstrable computer skills in Word (preferable Microsoft Office) Powerpoint and Excel.
Displays a good deal of flexibility and is adaptable to change.
Likes to work alone yet values their position within a team.
Demonstrates sound judgement.
