Directed at tackling grand challenges and wicked problems, our research and scholarship activity is organised around Clinical leadership with a focus on quality improvement, healthcare management, leading transformational change, digital health and innovation in healthcare.

We welcome applications from all areas of management but are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates in the following disciplinary areas: Healthcare Management (broadly defined) Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy Sustainability in Healthcare Quality & Risk Digital Health This is a teaching focused role with specific responsibility: To design, develop and deliver teaching across a wide range of modules and/or within a particular programme or subject area including executive education To develop research objectives, projects and proposals and carry out individual or collaborative research projects To lead on and/or contribute to the production of research outputs and research outcomes.

To effectively undertake a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities To comply with statutory legislation in furtherance of own and general staff welfare and safety To represent the best interests of RCSI at all times To perform such other duties as may be required Teaching and Learning Responsibilities To develop innovative teaching materials, techniques and module design and take responsibility for the quality of the provision To plan, deliver and critically review a range of teaching and assessment activities To undertake academic supervision of students To set and mark practical sessions, supervisions, assessments and examinations and provide constructive feedback to students To identify areas where current teaching provision needs revision or improvement and propose and implement improvements To collaborate with academic and operation colleagues in teaching development, delivery and quality assurance.

Research and Scholarship Responsibilities To develop and promote the research activities of the School by developing a personal research plan independently and/or in collaboration with others as part of a larger research team To plan, manage and undertake research & scholarship activities in accordance with a specific project plan, and to manage and guide the work of staff and research active students on own specialist area To develop innovative research proposals, identify and obtaining external sources of funding To publish original research in leading journals, books or other relevant media as appropriate and attend international conferences for the purpose of disseminating research & scholarship results Management and Administration To undertake the duties of a Module Lead or Programme Director as required, being responsible for the design, development and management of School teaching modules and other staff To contribute to the recruitment and selection of students To contribute to the administration and management of the School To advise, supervise and give guidance to other School staff as appropriate To develop and build internal and external contacts PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications Ph D or equivalent in relevant subject area Appropriate academic professional and teaching qualification or a willingness to complete one Experience of post-graduate teaching, preferably with on-line and international cohorts Knowledge Specialist knowledge in relevant subject area Experience of, or demonstrable willingness to engage in, healthcare management related research and teaching Knowledge of a range of research techniques and methodologies Knowledge of a range of teaching techniques to enthuse and engage higher education students and post-graduate learners Advanced and specialist IT knowledge including that requited for on-line teaching Research expertise in an area that will complement and enhance the School's research strategy and goals Skills, Abilities and Competencies Ability to develop research objectives, projects and proposals Well-developed analytical skills Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including ability to write and/or contribute to publications and/or to disseminate research findings using other appropriate media Ability to deliver presentations at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events internally and externally Ability to extend, transform and apply knowledge based on scholarship Ability to design teaching material and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area Ability to supervise the work of others, e.g.

in research teams, projects, as an MSc, Ph D, postdoc supervisor, etc.
