Vacancy ID : 037544 Closing Date : 13-Aug-2025 12:00 037544 - Autism Support and Universal Design Coordinator (Specified Purpose to Dec 2026) Reporting to the Head of Learner Support and Student Services the appointee will be responsible for the delivery of supported transition activities to students with autism (pre and post entry).

They will support students with autism to engage in activities that encourage social opportunities in SETU.

Key Responsibilities.

Foster and embed the principles of universal design to support students with Autism Maintain and develop links that assist in transition planning for students with Autism Develop and deliver supported transition activities (pre and post entry) that will facilitate a successful transition to higher education for students with Autism addressing and managing academic or personal challenges the student may encounter during their transition and participation in their chosen programme of study Design and co-ordinate the measurement of project outcomes as required by the HEA.

Specifically, compile and collate appropriate information for progress records and reports in accordance with HEA requirements and deadlines Deliver information sessions to students with Autism on preparing for college transition (e.g.

provide campus tours, information on the virtual learning environment, TRY days/evenings, how to register for financial supports, SUSI, disability supports and generic college supports Further develop specific ongoing orientation and direct support upon entry for the first term.

Awareness of and partake in applying reasonable accommodations in a timely manner to students registered with the disability office, particularly those with Autism Review students with Autism needs on a regular basis and provide support accordingly Foster and maintain greater collaboration and partnership between academic staff and departments, support services and students with Autism.

Coordinate the ongoing development and implementation of a framework for transitioning to placement/employment in collaboration with external and internal partners.

Continue with the delivery of training and awareness programmes for staff regarding Autism in the classroom and during work placement.

Liaise with the P2 P programme in order to promote awareness of Autism amongst mentors and mentees.

Liaise with and refer students with Autism to other support services within the University and community as required.

Manage the preparation for the adoption of the ALTITUDE Charter by identifying gaps and actions requires to prepare for Pillar 2 of the charter.

Update support guides and publication materials for staff and other relevant stakeholders Hours of Work: The appointee will be required to work 35 hours per week together with such additional hours as required for the proper discharge of their duties.

Salary: Grade V: 51,211 - 61251 (New Entrant 1st March 2025) Annual Leave: 27 days annual leave.

Annual Leave will be in accordance with arrangements authorised by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from time to time #SETUCW
