Job Details: Our client is looking for a looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Data Centre Operations Engineer to support both day-to-day operational activities in a live data centre environment and the buildout of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
This role combines physical infrastructure work with practical support in a dynamic, regulated setting.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with networking hardware, structured cabling, and BIOS-level server support, while also contributing to project-based deployments in a construction-phase facility.
Previous experience in BIOS configuration and data centre hardware deployment, as well as involvement in new builds or construction-related IT setups, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities Perform daily hands-on support in the existing data centre, including server racking, cabling, hardware checks, and basic diagnostics (BIOS-level if required).
Support the physical deployment of network and infrastructure components at the new site and 4 IDF/VDER areas.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot network switches, wireless access points, and structured cabling systems (including patch panels, cable management, and rack layouts).
Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors/vendors during installation and commissioning phases.
Execute BIOS-level configuration or troubleshooting on servers and infrastructure hardware during setup and validation.
Support network segmentation, VLAN setup, and port mapping under direction from network architects.
Document installation, cabling layouts, and network diagrams to support ongoing operations and validation.
Ensure GMP compliance and collaborate with project, validation, and IS teams.
Required Experience: 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure experience in a data centre or high-availability environment.
Skilled in: Switch & access point setup Structured cabling & patching Rack mounting and hardware setup Server BIOS configuration & diagnostics Prior exposure to new site construction, office/lab buildouts, or infrastructure setup in an evolving environment.
Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, segmentation).
Familiar with GMP environments or pharmaceutical site infrastructure standards.
Comfortable working independently, managing vendors, and performing physical work onsite.
Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industries Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI configuration, hardware diagnostics, and asset validation Understanding of MEP systems and construction sequencing related to IT deployment Knowledge of BICSI Class F3 standards, ISO, or BS cabling frameworks Competence in reading and marking up Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) or red-line drawings Tools: Cormant DCIM, RF-Code, DC asset tracking (optional) Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
