Head of Quality & Risk at Resilience Healthcare Purpose of the role The Head of Quality & Risk will support the Chief Executive Officer to achieve quality and safety governance and compliance within Resilience, and to develop a culture of openness and continuous quality improvement.
Location: National role Job type: Permanent full-time Role and Responsibilities Head of Quality & Risk Responsibilities Create and maintain safe systems of care, designed to reduce adverse events and improve performance.
Oversee the Occupational Health & Safety systems in Resilience.
Maintain and improve ISO45001 certifications and ensure compliance with all audits.
Maintain risk management system for the improvement of the safety and quality of our health and social care services by identifying the circumstances and opportunities of risk and identify appropriate actions to prevent and control risks.
Maintain and coordinate the corporate risk register and maintain the risk register system for local service and regional levels.
Identify activities and actions that can be introduced that will minimise opportunities for errors.
Contribute, draft and provide policy guidance in a number of key governance areas.
Maintain and manage online reporting tools for incidents, complaints, claims and safeguarding management.
Maintain the process for systematic monitoring of and learning from clinical, safety and safeguarding incidents at local, regional and national level.
Report and coordinate a serious incident reporting and management process.
Implement and monitor company progress against the Governance Framework.
Chair and participate in relevant committees as per Governance structures.
Collaborate with Broadlake and other health & social companies on collaborative projects.
Oversee all complaints and ensure complaints process is implemented and monitored.
Oversee the claims process and ensure learning and efficient management.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities To develop the structures to ensure that Resilience offers and maintains high quality and safe services to the people we support, their families and significant others.
Support the organisation in preparation for registration, inspection and subsequent development of improvement plans to achieve compliance in the areas of quality and safety.
Implement the governance framework in relation to quality and assurance.
Manage, implement, and monitor company progress on external accreditation.
Manage the companys policy compliance program and chair the committee accordingly.
Oversee the HIQA internal audit program.
Oversee the audit program for the company.
Oversee GDPR compliance for the company liaising with the Data Protection Officer.
Management Responsibilities As a member of the Resilience Senior Management team, to support Directors in the management and governance of Resilience.
To develop a culture of openness and continuous quality improvement.
To be an effective role model, able to skilfully demonstrate a wide breadth of expertise in the management and service delivery of Health and Social Care services.
To guide the provision of safe clinical organisation of service within Resilience ensuring high quality clinical service is provided for in a collaborative manner with management and clinical staff.
Update and report to Chief Executive Officer on all incidents, complaints, accidents and near misses, thus providing ongoing assurance to Board.
To appropriately partake in the investigation of incidents and untoward clinical incidents as requested to do by the Chief Executive Officer.
Where required to efficiently and effectively investigate any issue, concerns or complaints raised by a member of staff, patient or member of the public.
Educate staff and management on the objectives and relevance of the risk management strategies.
To produce reports as required for Resilience Management Team, Clinical Governance Committees and TTM Board on incidents / complaints, quality and safety improvements.
To provide reports on quality and safety governance as required by commissioners and other Government agencies.
Manage the quality and risk team and ensure development and training.
Use Resilience tools for the monitoring of the team.
Education, Experience & Exposure Required Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience Bachelors degree.
At least 4 years relevant experience in a similar role.
Essential skills, competencies and/or knowledge A comprehensive knowledge of the Health and Social Care Sector.
Have a sound knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
Ability to organise and delegate work accordingly.
Ability to prioritise and organise demands for services.
Experience of information systems in supporting management of the service.
Innovative problem solver.
Evidence of audit and research activities.
Proven leadership qualities.
Ability to teach and develop other members of staff by creating a culture of learning within the organisation.
Ability to help develop department procedures and policies.
Proven team player, but able to work independently.
Ability to empathise with individuals.
Desirable skills, competencies and/or knowledge Ability to work with a wide range of individuals and colleagues, service users and clients.
Clear and appropriate oral and written communication skills with all disciplines within and outside clinical care.
