Assistant Manager (Social Care Worker Grade) Residential Service, Ballina, Co.

Mayo Permanent 26 hours per week Reference Number 2025-110 A Further information available from Anna Hoban Service Manager Tel: Job Brief The Assistant Manager will be required to deliver on the vision for people they are supporting through their daily lives.

This will include working with a number of people and their families.

It will involve supporting people in their respective homes and in their own local community, while also having responsibility for staff rosters and day to day operational management.

They will be required to build and develop capacity within staff teams linked to the individuals and other supports to ensure the delivery and implementation of the supports.

They will develop a circle of support around the individuals.

We are looking for a highly capable people with an ability to listen, respond and have an emphatic nature.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good leadership skills and ability to work on own initiative.

We believe that being creative, imaginative and highly motivated is key to this role.

You will be required to participate in the Management of the Service as per HIQA requirements.

Candidate Requirements A genuine understanding and interest in working alongside people in effecting positive opportunities and change in their lives in a meaningful way The ability to listen, to see, and respectfully advocate for and on behalf of the individual with regard to their needs, preferences, rights, and dreams Have excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of teamwork with the motivation to deliver high-quality facilitation, working alongside individuals, their families, and other disciplines Self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively Ability to lead a team of staff, including compiling rosters Experience working in an Autism Informed Manner Experience working in a person and family centered manner Interest in connecting someone to their community and supporting development of socially valued roles Flexibility will be required from time to time to respond to service demands Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations is essential Good knowledge of IT skills is preferable Other duties involved (Duties include but are not limited to the following) Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the creative development and ongoing changing needs of the service.

Qualification Details An appropriate 3 rd level qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (minimum level 7) -please note your qualification must be eligible for CORU registration Qualification in people management an advantage Other Requirements Full driver's license is essential All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.
