Fexco Drive Technology are currently recruiting for a Head of IT Operations to join their team.

This role is a permanent, full-time position with the opportunity to work from our offices based in Killorglin, Co.

Kerry with flexibility to work a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities: Providing implementation/planning/ leadership and subject matter expertise in the areas of: IT applications, infrastructure, telephony, networking, cloud computing etc.

Management of operational & technical projects ensuring that they are of the highest quality and delivered on time and within budget.

Play a significant role in long-term planning, including cloud migration strategy and feature adoption.

Lead IT infrastructure purchasing decisions and operational budget allocation.

Ensure accurate monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting of network connectivity and service availability.

Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, quality and accountability.

Identify and recommend new technologies, both proprietary and open source, that will further benefit our systems and network operations.

Promote Infrastructure as code (IAC), to manage configurations and automate provisioning of infrastructure and the configuration of servers.

Drive the adoption and integration of AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making processes, and support strategic business objectives.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies Strategic Thinking and Execution Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive technical operations strategy that aligns with business goals and growth objectives.

Leadership and Team Management Proven experience in leading and transitioning a diverse technical team, including Sys Admins, Network Engineers, DBAs, and Security Engineers to guide the drive the transition from traditional tech ops to a cloud-based SRE or support team.

Cloud Expertise Extensive experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure and GCP, with AWS experience also being acceptable Knowledge of cloud architecture, migration strategies, and cloud-native technologies.

Technical Proficiency Deep understanding of systems performance, IT service management, and cloud operations.

Familiarity with SRE principles and practices, including automation, monitoring, and incident management.

Bring a software engineering mindset to solving problems, infrastructure as code is a basis for all solutions.

Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) Proficiency in Ia C tools such as Terraform, Ansible.

Experience in automating and standardizing the provisioning and management of IT resources using code.

Project Management Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Communication and Stakeholder Management Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams, business leaders, and external partners.

Adaptability and Innovation Adaptable to evolving technologies and business environments, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Experience in driving change and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.

Customer-Centric Mindset Strong customer management skills to ensure that technical operations support business needs and enhance customer satisfaction.

Preferred Experience Cloud Migration Projects Demonstrated experience in converting traditional on-premises tech ops teams to cloud-based SRE or support teams.

Hands-on experience with cloud migration tools and methodologies.

Technical Certifications Relevant certifications in Azure, GCP, and AWS to validate expertise and knowledge.

Common Tools in Tech Operations Familiarity with essential operations management tools such as network monitoring, cybersecurity, application performance management, and capacity planning tools.
