"A future which empowers people with intellectual disabilities to realise their potential and live a good life Cheeverstown are now inviting applicants who share in our mission and values to apply for the following post: Clinical Nurse Specialist Candidate (c CNS) in Mental Health Intellectual Disability 37.50 hours per week| Permanent Contract|Clinic Based initially Location: The provision of a person-centred service require the post holder to be flexible in terms of work location and provide supports that may be clinic based, domiciliary, day service-based, or other setting depending on the needs of the particular case.

Role Description: The c CNS in MHID is a member of Cheeverstown MDT team providing direct specialist nursing care to individuals with dual diagnosis of Intellectual Disability and mental health diagnosis.

Eligibility criteria Qualifications: Be a registered RNID or RPN on the NMBI register of Nurses and Midwives in which the application is being made or in exceptional circumstances, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives AND A minimum of one year post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 1 years full time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made (preferably in the specialised MHID area) OR If the applicant does not possess the relevant specialist experience, they will be supported to attain one years clinical specialist experience AND Have undertaken formal recognised post registration education in the specialist area of Mental Health, Positive behaviour support or a related area at Higher Diploma level or equivalent (level 8) on the NQAI framework OR If the applicant does not possess the relevant QQI NFQ qualification, the applicant will be supported to undertake the required postgraduate education relevant to the specialist area.

Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.

Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health and the various healthcare needs of people with Intellectual Disability.

Full clean driving licence and access to a car.

Desirable: Experience of working as part of a team and commitment to building on their role in a community and social based model.

Have the ability to enable and support people to achieve their goals through quality person-centred services.

Good organisational skills.

Strong interest and ability in providing social supports to maximise each persons quality of life and enable them to have a meaningful day every day.

Salary will be reflective of qualifications and level of experience as part of the HSE consolidated salary scales.
