ABOUT THE JOB Our client the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) is Ireland's independent energy and water regulator they are recruiting a senior analyst.

As a Senior Analyst (Governance), you will be part of the Finance and Governance Team reporting to the Senior Manager Finance and Governance; and will have the opportunity to develop your governance knowledge and experience while assisting the CRU to achieve its strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will be involved in a varied role, providing insights to management, working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead role in ensuring the CRU complies with its governance obligations, including its obligations under the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies (the Code).

Work with the Secretary to the Commission to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the Commission and its Committees, and the development, management and review of governance policies and procedures.

Supporting the CRU Audit and Risk Committee by managing appointments to the committee, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and tracking action items.

Supporting the Finance and Governance Committee by preparing meeting materials.

Liaising with the CRUs parent Department i.e.

the Department of Climate, Environment and Energy, on matters relating to the CRUs governance and accountability obligations and to the CRUs obligations to provide information to the Department on an ongoing basis.

Act as the CRU Data Liaison Officer in ensuring the CRUs compliance with its data protection/GDPR obligations, working closely with the designated Data Protection Officer.

Co-ordinating the gathering of pertinent data for corporate reporting purposes; and assisting in the preparation of annual reports.

Procurement Support Where required, conduct market engagement and market analysis as pre-tendering stage.

Support CRUs compliance with its procurement obligations including continuous development and oversight of the contract management guidelines/ arrangements.

Assist Division with projects, where relevant.

Dealing with internal and external stakeholders in a positive manner in order to further CRU objectives.

Mentoring Analysts and Graduate Analysts within the Commission and conducting knowledge transfer sessions in order to share knowledge, expertise and learnings.

Working as a member of a team and leading specific project teams, as required.

Carrying out such other functions as may be required from time to time to fulfil the business objectives of the CRU and as appropriate to the grade Essential Requirements Candidates must have on or before the closing date for applications the following: An honours degree, NFQ Level 8 equivalent, in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to law, regulatory policy, business, governance etc.).

Minimum of 3 years experience working within a regulatory, compliance, governance, quality assurance or other relevant role.

Desirable Requirements Ability to take qualitative and quantitative information and analyse/challenge it in a constructive manner.

Experience of drafting documentation to communicate complex issues/information in a clear and concise manner.

Experience working in a sector-specific regulator or other governmental organisation.

Familiarity with the national/EU legal framework under which the CRU operates.
