A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centered, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their Carer at its core.
The ASI is currently recruiting for a part-time Daycare Worker/ social club coordinator, who will work in our Castlerea Day Centre located in Longford Lower, Castlerea, Co.
Roscommon F45 A621 and Roscommon Social Club located in The cube, Lanesboro Road, Roscommon town F42 DX61 This is a permanent contract of employment working 21 hours per week as a care worker and 2 hours per week as a social club coordinator.
Reporting to the Day Centre Manager, the Care Worker is responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia, addressing their needs and enhancing their quality of life.
Reporting to the operations manager, the social club coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the Alzheimer Social Club.
The Social Club will provide activity sessions, music, information, support, and signposting for people living with dementia.
To be successful in this role you will need experience of working with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.
FETAC level 5 qualification is desirable but not essential.
You will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
