The Ardilaun Hotel, a family-owned 4-star hotel set in Taylors Hill, Galway, is seeking a full-time dedicated Groundskeeper/Gardener to join our team. Our gardens are one of the hotel's most distinctive features, offering guests a tranquil escape just minutes from Galway City, and we are looking for someone with passion and skill to help maintain and enhance them.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, presentation, and development of our hotel grounds and gardens, ensuring they remain a welcoming and picturesque environment for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, trees, and pathways to the highest standard.
• Plant, prune, weed, and water as required, with a keen eye for seasonal planting.
• Ensure outdoor areas, including terraces, courtyards, and walkways, are tidy and safe.
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored.
• Uphold health and safety standards in all gardening activities, including proper handling of chemicals and adherence to relevant regulations.
• Work with the management team to enhance the landscaping design and guest experience.
• Carry out minor outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or gardening (hospitality or hotel experience desirable).
• Knowledge of horticulture, planting, and seasonal garden care.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
