Overview

Senior Financial Accountant (Grade VIII) at St Michael's House. The role supports financial operations, with a focus on accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic financial planning. Collaborative work with across departments, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including management accounts, activity reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and banking/treasury functions.
  • Review and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Collaborate with ICT on finance system upgrades and implementations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Contribute to risk management and quality assurance frameworks.
Person Specification
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong proficiency in financial systems and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Public sector experience is advantageous.
Conditions of Employment
  • Annual Leave: 30 days per annum (pro-rata).
  • Sick Leave: As per contract and attendance policy.
  • Salary: Commensurate with Grade 8 scale and experience.
