Detailed Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs & road maintenance plant & equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tyre rotations to prevent breakdowns and maximise vehicle performance.
  3. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  4. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  5. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  1. Solid knowledge of HGV/heavy equipment systems, components, and diagnostic tools.
  2. Experience in identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  3. Familiarity with relevant safety standards, regulations, and best practices in the automotive industry.
  4. Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
  5. A valid driver's license.
  6. Be a fully qualified mechanic or have extensive experience in the maintenance and repairs to trucks and road maintenance repair plant (planers, sweepers, etc.).
  7. Be able to inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to a high standard.
  8. Ideally have some welding and fabrication experience.
  9. Have a relatively good standard of English; Russian/Polish/Ukrainian would be advantageous.
  10. Willing to work in a team environment.
General:
  1. Very good working conditions with a long-established company (25 years in 2023).
  2. As a family-run business (50 staff), we work with our employees to make sure they fit in and build a good working relationship.
  3. We can assist with and possibly provide accommodation for a candidate that is relocating.
  4. Standard Monday - Saturday, Midweek day off can be exchanged. Options for overtime.
  5. We carry out a variety of work ranging from fleet maintenance, mechanical repairs, refurbishments, and fabrication works across our own plant & machinery. Our workshop is equipped with all large tools and equipment.
  6. Welding experience and qualification an advantage.
