Electrical Construction Manager

Cork

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee and lead electrical projects within the commercial and industrial sectors. This leadership position involves managing on-site teams, liaising with key project stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of electrical installations from initiation to completion.

Key Duties:

  • Direct the planning, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems on commercial and industrial sites.
  • Supervise electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors to maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Interpret and review technical drawings, project specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations, including Safe Electric and Health and Safety Authority requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and other trades to coordinate site activities effectively.
  • Track project milestones, resolve delays or issues promptly, and keep comprehensive site records and documentation.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and quality assurance checks throughout the construction process.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Electrician holding a National Craft Certificate or equivalent higher education qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory, foreman, or construction management capacity.
  • Solid technical knowledge of electrical containment, 3-phase power systems, lighting, fire alarm systems, data cabling, and electrical distribution.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a strong emphasis on safety and quality management.
  • Familiarity with RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), permit to work procedures, and other safety documentation.
  • Electrical Testing & Verification certification is a significant advantage.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or comparable supervisory safety training is desirable.
