Job summary

The Office of Public Works (OPW) currently has a vacancy for Environmental Scientist/Ecologist at Grade III level in its Environment Section located in Headford, Co. Galway.

A panel will be formed from this competition to fill future vacancies which may arise in OPW's Offices in Dublin, Meath and Limerick.

Main Duties of the Job

Reporting to a Grade II Engineer or Environmental Scientist/Ecologist, the Environmental Scientist/Ecologist Grade III will manage environmental compliance, ecological and aquatic surveys, environmental monitoring and environmental assessments for a range of OPW activities. They will also work with the wider organisation on the management and implementation of conservation projects and other work for the management of sites, habitats and species.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 3pm on Thursday, 11th September 2025.
