This role is based at Dublin Airport and involves cross-skilling to support the Baggage Handling Systems and baggage control room, including operating in a 24/7 shift pattern with 12-hour shifts on a 4-week cycle. You will work within a team of multi-skilled technicians and operatives, supported to develop the requisite skillsets to flourish as a highly skilled technician. Reporting to the Asset Management Team Lead, the role focuses on planned, reactive and emergency maintenance of BHS assets to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control the BHS via SCADA and other control systems from the Control Room. Investigate root causes of jams and stoppages and monitor inbound/outbound baggage operations across terminals.
  • Operate and maintain all DAP assets required in a multi-skilled environment.
  • Own the performance and uptime of engineering systems and equipment by delivering a comprehensive planned maintenance regime.
  • Perform reactive maintenance and repairs on assets within the Asset Management remit as directed by the Team Lead.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy work environment in all asset areas (cleaning, vacuuming, waste removal, lamp disposal, filters, etc.).
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive, timely records and documentation to support asset performance and availability targets.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly on system issues within Asset Management and with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Utilise systems and technologies to enhance performance and record keeping.
  • Use CMMS for recording planned, reactive and corrective works, timecards, escalations and finalisation of workflows to improve system reliability and processes.
  • Safely and competently operate engineering-related equipment as required.
  • Promote and participate in a positive H&S culture, including audits, incident reporting and safety checks, and challenge practices that impact H&S and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and trials on behalf of Asset Management.
  • Assist Asset Management teams to upskill and develop competencies.
  • Attend toolbox talks and safe work procedure briefings.
  • Contribute to the development and review of standards, documentation, reporting and methods across Asset Management.
  • Support compliance with Dublin Airport Asset Management Standards (e.g., ISO55001/50001/45001).
  • Flexibility with working hours, shift patterns, and out-of-hours call-ins and remote technical support.
