Job Description:

Principal Software Quality Engineer

My client has an opportunity for a Principal Software Quality Engineer to join them in the design and development of innovative technology. This is an initial 12 month daily rate contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Actively participate in the development process through designing, writing and maintaining automated tests including unit tests, functional tests and end-to-end regression tests.
  2. Use your knowledge of development and testability to build better software, promoting excellent software engineering and bug prevention strategies to produce software and automation test suites that are scalable and maintainable.
  3. Oversee quality inspections of test and development and the corresponding audit artifacts within the team.
  4. Facilitate reviews of test cases with your scrum team to ensure that all paths are covered by the tests.
  5. Reproduce, debug, and isolate problems and verify fixes.
  6. Share your expertise in Software Quality Engineering across the software team and assist your fellow team members to upskill in testing and automation.
Requirements:
  1. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
  2. 8+ years in software and quality engineering.
  3. Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber and Selenium, supporting software solutions developed in Angular, Typescript, Java, Spring/ Springboot, Oracle, SOAP and RESTful services.
  4. Ability to contribute to the QA automation strategy for our applications, and oversee QA best practices.
  5. Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins.
  6. Experience using source control and pull requests for collaborative development in code repository tools such as GitHub.
  7. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS cloud deployment/application management is a plus.
  8. Experience with requirement analysis, defect tracking, coordinating with team members in different locations, and test reporting and signoff.
  9. Experience implementing test data management strategies and test environment approaches.
  10. Experience working in an agile scrum development environment.
  11. Financial Services experience preferred, but not essential.
