Position: Senior Data Engineer

My client, a US multinational established in Galway, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work on their Data Platforms supporting Equity Advisors business-specific requirements.

This is a hands-on role where you will understand requirements, contribute to designs, and develop specific product features including model and provision datasets, develop consumption interfaces, build reusable components and resilient cloud-based services, and provide insights for our Investment Professionals.

Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
  • Expertise in data analysis
  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning
  • Exposure to Agile development practices
  • Familiarity with logical data modeling and relational database design
  • Data movement and ETL experience (preferably Informatica)
  • Experience with native AWS services, creating Data APIs, Snowflake, and Python (advantageous)
  • Data Warehousing knowledge (advantageous)
  • Exposure to GIT, Jenkins, and CICD processes
  • Financial and Investment domain exposure (plus)
  • Experience in agile methodologies, providing L3 support, and working with geographically distributed teams (desirable)
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, timely, cost-effective, and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet business requirements.
  • Adopt good engineering practices such as test-driven development, code and design reviews, Oracle xplans, CI/CD.
  • Work independently to deliver complex technical features.
  • Communicate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude while delivering individually.
