Allianz has established a specialist subsidiary company for reinsurance business in Dublin, Allianz Re Dublin dac ('the Company'). The Company's premises are at Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4.

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

Reporting to the Head of non-technical accounting, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, supporting month-end processes, regulatory returns, and internal Allianz Group reporting.

The Financial Accountant is proactive in driving these processes and provides expert input.

The Financial Accountant is a key contact in the Accounting team and supports colleagues' development. They understand business processes and can define the required accounting, tax, and reporting treatments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work under different accounting regimes: IFRS and Solvency II.
  • Manage work assignments independently from start to finish and solve problems proactively.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Responsible for preparing, analyzing, and submitting the annual plan and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing junior staff.
  • Support the external year-end audit by providing requested information and reviewing financial statements.
  • Support Solvency II regulatory reporting, including input, review, and testing of QRTs.
  • Support internal audit processes.
  • Collaborate with global teams and manage relationships with stakeholders including Allianz Group, Allianz Re SE, cedents, vendors, banks, clients, and authorities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  • Assist in assessing complex transactions and project management to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business, systems, and outputs.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCEQualifications:
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
Experience:
  • At least 2 years post-qualification experience in financial services, preferably in Big 4 audit firms or (re-)insurance.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Solvency II is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in annual financial planning processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity to expand expertise.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines with accurate output.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Understanding of IFRS17 and its practical implementation.
