Purpose of Position

Pantheon Ventures ("Pantheon"), a $90B multi-strategy investment firm, is seeking an Associate, Fund Finance, for its Private Debt strategy. The candidate will participate across a wide range of functions supporting the investment platform, with an entrepreneurial mindset and the opportunity to contribute to launching new funds and products within a global firm. The role requires familiarity with Private Debt Funds fund accounting, valuation, risk management, third-party fund service providers, and general finance and reporting oversight. The Associate will join the Fund Finance team based in Dublin and work with the VP, Fund Finance and the Pantheon Private Debt teams.

The Associate will play a central role in the Private Debt Fund Finance team, including fund administrator accounting oversight, fund audits, reporting, valuation procedures, and other operational processes. The role also supports the Designated Person for Capital and Financial Management in fulfilling oversight and reporting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Private Debt teams to provide financial and operational support to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal/external clients and suppliers.
  • Support the setup of new structures or funds, coordinating with the structuring team, internal counsel, external advisors, and the Private Debt team to ensure proper operating frameworks.
  • Perform fund accounting review for Private Debt Funds to ensure high-quality financial deliverables and accurate financial statements.
  • Review and approve fund expenses to ensure reasonableness and understanding.
  • Review and approve management and performance fees as required.
  • Assist with fund and regulatory reporting deliverables.
  • Oversee third-party fund administration providers, depositaries, and other service providers with the Third-Party Administration Management team.
  • Assist with external audits for Private Debt funds, liaising with external auditors and addressing audit queries within deadlines.
  • Review and approve capital events such as calls, distributions and equalisations, as required.
  • Ensure adherence to control and risk frameworks; refine procedures to reduce operational risk.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed; support Private Debt and Investor Relations teams as required.
  • Provide transaction support for acquisitions and creation of new entities to ensure timely closings.
  • Attend relevant investment team meetings to understand deal pipeline and coordinate operational requirements.
  • Assist with fund sales, extensions and, where necessary, liquidations related to Private Debt Funds.
Capital & Financial Management
  • Support the Designated Person to discharge Pantheon Ireland's Capital and Financial risk responsibilities under CP86 for funds under management and for Pantheon Ventures Ireland (PVI).
  • Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements, including capital requirements and monitoring of Minimum Capital Requirement.
  • Support oversight and monitoring of service providers to PVI's funds, including reviewing internal control reports, AIFMD reporting, remote monitoring and on-site due diligence as necessary, and reviewing quarterly fund reports and annual financial statements prepared by fund administrators.
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly board reporting materials for PVI and Luxembourg boards, including oversight of budgets and expense analysis.
Knowledge & Experience Required

Technical

  • Recognised accounting qualification with strong accounting skills.
  • Broad knowledge of private markets, preferably funds of funds or Private Debt, and processes involved in servicing these funds.
  • Customer-focused with a background in fund accounting/operations and a passion for quality and efficiency.
  • Experience in designing, monitoring and understanding internal controls frameworks across fund/product life cycles.
  • Ability to document processes, controls and procedures in clear formats (e.g., data flows, controls matrices).
  • Strong prioritisation and workload management skills.
  • Experience in process change and improvement projects.
  • Excellent organisation and planning abilities.
  • Proficient Excel skills.
