We provide comprehensive EAP services, offering emotional and practical support to client companies and their employees. Our counsellors deliver face-to-face short-term counselling services to our clients.

THE ROLE:

  1. Managing online referrals promptly and accepting/declining cases within agreed timeframes
  2. Contacting clients to arrange the first appointment within agreed timeframes
  3. Offering short-term counselling to clients from 3 to 8 sessions (differs on a case to case basis)
  4. Providing written/verbal feedback and case notes in a timely manner
  5. Reporting back to our Case Management Team in the event of risk

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Qualifications, Supervision, Insurance and Therapeutic Venue
  1. Registered or accredited by a professional counselling body including IACP, PSI, ICP, APCP, IAHIP or equivalent.
  2. If not accredited, you must be qualified to Diploma level and a registered member of a professional counselling body, with 3 years' post-qualification experience, and have accrued at least 450 counselling hours.
  3. You must be able to work within a theoretical approach that is appropriate for our short-term counselling model and within an EAP context
  4. You must be able to demonstrate sufficient regular professional clinical supervision.
  5. Professional indemnity insurance of at least €1,000,000.
  6. Regular professional clinical supervision
  7. You have access to a suitable dedicated consulting room that does not double as living accommodation. The entrance to the consulting room must be discrete and not via any personal living area. The ambience should be neutral, with limited personal items.
  8. Suitable waiting area to accommodate clients arriving early or manage appointments to ensure client confidentiality and comfort.
  9. Answerphone with outgoing message clearly identifying yourself as a counsellor.
Training and Experience
  1. Skilled in assessment of presenting issues and support planning
  2. Experienced in short-term counselling interventions with a focus on solutions and coping skills
  3. Previous experience in an EAP or similar settings preferred
  4. Awareness of organizational dynamics and work-related issues
  5. Ability to refer clients to other support services and knowledge of local resources
  6. IT literate – able to work with Microsoft Word, email, and TELUS Health systems
Ability to work with TELUS Health procedures
  1. Understanding and working within case management procedures, including 'at risk' cases and private contracting
  2. Working with email-based counselling referrals and online systems
  3. Providing timely feedback and collaborating as part of a clinical team
