Job Title – Quality Technician

Role Overview:

Are you a Quality Engineer with experience in the Manufacturing environment? You will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming parts, first-off inspections and finished product inspections; recording quality results and generating various quality reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-plan and prepare First Article Inspection Reports in preparation for product arriving from Production.
  2. Approve first articles by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable parts, communicating required adjustments to production operators/supervisors.
  3. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  4. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. Acquiring material and sub-contract certificates for submission with FAI Reports.
  5. Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs and calibrations.
  6. Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products. Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances.
  7. Conduct internal audits/process audit checks throughout manufacturing facility.
  8. Verify production first off and last off samples by conducting visual and measurement tests to product specifications.
  9. Maintain health and safety work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  10. Participate in the investigation and resolving of non-conformances, customer complaints and health & safety issues.
  11. Support and assist in maintaining the Quality Management System throughout the organisation.
  12. Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
  13. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Quality Manager or Quality Engineers.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  1. 2+ years working within a Quality related role.
  2. Must be able to work with minimum of supervision.
  3. Ability to read & understand technical drawings.
  4. Good computer skills, proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  5. Experience of dimensional measurement inspections using metric and imperial measurement units required and proficient in the use of calipers, height gauges, thread gauges.
  6. Strong attention to detail and strong organisational skills as well as excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
