You'll work alongside a collaborative team to produce high-quality tooling solutions for various manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precision machining of component parts for special-purpose and bespoke tooling.
- Program and operate CNC and manual machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to new product development and improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities.
- Assist with the training of new apprentice toolmakers.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on tooling and machinery to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Time-served qualified Toolmaker with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience.
- Experience in CNC and manual machining, with the ability to program and operate machines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of precision in all work.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Experience in CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good teamwork skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in design/manufacturing of special-purpose tooling
- Familiarity with medical device manufacturing or precision engineering environments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
