Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision machining of component parts for special-purpose and bespoke tooling.
  • Program and operate CNC and manual machines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to new product development and improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production activities.
  • Assist with the training of new apprentice toolmakers.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on tooling and machinery to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time-served qualified Toolmaker with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience.
  • Experience in CNC and manual machining, with the ability to program and operate machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of precision in all work.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
  • Experience in CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good teamwork skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in design/manufacturing of special-purpose tooling
  • Familiarity with medical device manufacturing or precision engineering environments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
