Licencing Forester

Due to Euroforest Ireland's continued growth, we have a vacancy in the following role:

We are looking for a committed worker with a keen interest in forestry.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Felling licence, forest road, woodland improvement, Ash RUS applications
2. Site inspection for mapping purposes
3. Coordinating projects with our team of harvesting foresters and liaising with external consultants such as ecologists and engineers
4. Undertaking background research, desk studies, and ecological fieldwork and impact assessment reporting, to best-practice guidelines and methodologies
5. Advising owners on best forest practice and maximising financial returns, particularly in relation to harvesting and managing semi-mature plantations
6. Delivering fit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines
7. A strong appreciation of commercial forestry
8. Motivated and highly organised, agile and adaptable to change
9. An ability to work on own initiative
10. Competence in GIS
11. Excellent planning and project management abilities
12. Full driving licence
13. Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
15. A recognised qualification in forestry at level 7/8 on the QQI Framework of qualifications or equivalent
16. A knowledge of all Forest Service forestry schemes
17. A knowledge of all paperwork associated with the Department for Landowners
18. A knowledge or experience of harvesting and marketing of timber

Remuneration

Salary commensurate with experience, plus phone, laptop, and transport.
