Overview

Senior SAP Software Developer at General Motors. This role focuses on designing and developing SAP technical solutions for implementation and upgrade projects, transforming functional requirements into technical specifications, code, unit tests, and debugging.

Responsibilities
  • Work with SAP technologies and the latest integration and support packages.
  • Provide technical solution delivery for global process teams focusing on SAP developments across Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Aftersales.
  • Handle large-scale global implementations and smaller, faster innovative challenges.
  • Develop technical design specifications for development objects and alignments with the organization.
  • Contribute to a non-functional requirements framework to optimize solution delivery.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement development objects for SAP using ABAP.
  • Automate routine functions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with Functional Analysts, Basis, and Operations teams.
  • Create documentation for processes and future reference.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Business Computing or related field
  • SAP ABAP or other SAP certification
  • Extensive experience in SAP project lifecycle deployments (ASAP, SDLC)
  • 5+ years of ABAP development experience (ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC upgrades/conversions, installation and validation of SAP packages
  • ABAP OO, ALE/IDOCs, BAPIs, enhancements; experience with User Exits, batch inputs
  • Experience with workflow, Web Dynpro, ODATA Services, SAP BTP
  • Performance tuning for complex programs and reports
  • Experience developing inbound/outbound interfaces with SAP ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA
  • Data conversions for high-volume data; knowledge of MM, SD, PP, FI/CO modules
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to prioritize across multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications And Certifications
  • Experience in SAP ECC, EWM
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation
  • Knowledge of SAP HANA Database, Calculation and CDS Views
  • Experience with data archiving technologies
  • Hands-on SAP FIORI experience
Location and Working Model

Hybrid role. This position requires the successful candidate to report to the Limerick office three times per week.
