We have an opportunity for a litigator to join our Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, one of the largest and most experienced disputes practices in Ireland focusing on achieving results for clients from a range of industries in complex contentious situations. Our lawyers are commercial litigators with specialist and sectoral expertise, regularly working in multi-disciplinary teams, as well as acting as our clients' advisers to develop innovative ideas and practical tailored solutions. We have a proven track record of delivering results in high-stakes challenging disputes. We are the firm of choice for big ticket complex litigation often involving cross border and multi-jurisdictional issues.

About the role

As a lawyer within the group, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial disputes and work closely with the partners to help grow and develop the practice even further.

In this role you will have an opportunity to:

• Collaborate on challenging disputes for a variety of clients and be involved in some of the most high profile and significant litigation in the market;
• Work broadly on a range of commercial disputes including regulatory and investigations, judicial review, technology disputes, insurance disputes, restructuring and insolvency, and environmental matters;
• Act as part of multi-disciplinary specialist teams on high value and business critical client projects;
• Manage junior lawyers and help mentor and develop them;
• Participate in a variety of business development opportunities including international conferences and the possibility of secondment to our overseas offices; and
• Help drive thought leadership in commercial disputes through the Matheson client knowledge programme.

About the person

• You are an experienced Commercial Disputes Lawyer with a high level of expertise;
• You are a strong technical lawyer and enjoy business development;
• You are highly client focused and committed to consistently exceeding client expectations;
• You can manage a diverse workload, deliver quality, commercially-focused advice with minimal supervision, and lead and develop junior lawyers;
• You enjoy the law you practice, and are hardworking and resilient;
• You will thrive in a diverse and inclusive environment where you will work in partnership with top legal talent in a market leading team that is continuing to grow;
• You will enjoy establishing relationships with a diverse range of clients and colleagues;
• You are enthusiastic about business development, helping develop your junior colleagues to their maximum potential and how you can contribute to managing valuable client relationships as part of the team; and
• You may choose to be based in our Dublin or Cork offices.
