Role Summary

NeuroCent at Beaumont Hospital is a national centre for cochlear implantation and houses key specialties including ENT, head and neck oncology, cochlear implantation, and radiation oncology. The ward supports elective and emergency surgeries, working closely with plastic surgery teams in head and neck reconstruction.

We are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 for 0.5 WTE as part of a job share. This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses in ENT and head and neck oncology to lead clinical practice, support team development, and foster innovation. You will work closely with senior management and have opportunities for professional development through various educational and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Professional / Clinical
  • Manage patient care ensuring high standards using evidence-based practices
  • Provide clinical leadership and coordinate care activities
  • Maintain safe, comprehensive nursing care according to professional guidelines and legislation
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate across healthcare disciplines
  • Support discharge planning and uphold patient dignity and confidentiality
  • Contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, and research activities
  • Implement health promotion initiatives
Health and Safety
  • Develop and manage safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies
  • Report incidents and manage clinical risks
  • Maintain awareness of HIQA standards and promote sustainability initiatives
Education and Training
  • Engage in continuous professional development and staff training
  • Supervise student nurses and foster learning environments
  • Participate in performance management processes
Management
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff within the designated area
  • Lead team building, resource management, and practice development
  • Contribute to policy development and service planning
  • Maintain administrative and clinical records
Minimum Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with the NMBI
  • At least 5 years post-registration experience, with 2 years in ENT or related specialty
  • Demonstrated leadership, clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity
  • Continuous professional development evidence
  • Health and good character
Desirable Qualifications
  • Leadership or management experience
  • Management qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in ENT, Neurosciences, or Oncology (Level 9)
